Laetitia Casta Is Decked Out in Dior on the Cover of ELLE France

By now, I’m sure you need no informing that here at theFashionSpot, we’re huge champions and supporters of ELLE France. Week after the week, the magazine manages to outshine and outdo the competition down at the newsstand and as the gift that keeps on giving, we regularly sit in anticipation as to what the publication has in store for us next.

Following last week’s triumphant and celebratory Keiona offering, Véronique Philipponnat gives us French ELLE regular Laetitia Casta on this week’s issue dated October 5, 2023. Photographed by Boo George and styled by the magazine’s fashion editor Anne Marie Brouillet, the French model and actress is all smiles in the cover photograph, decked out in a head-to-toe look from Maria Grazia Chiuri’s Fall 2023 collection for Christian Dior. No stranger to Dior, Laetitia was handpicked by Chiuri to feature in the legendary French fashion house’s ‘Lady 95.22‘ handbag advertising campaign earlier this year.

Members of our forums, however, felt somewhat disappointed with the end result. “They didn’t exactly try to make her look her best, did they,” pointed out FashioNarrating.

“‘I’m unwashed and it’s Sunday, do I really have to leave the house?'” added tigerrouge, also suggesting Laetitia was done a disservice.

“Just glad to see her!” liberty33r1b reasoned.

“While I’m not impressed by the cover, I think that it’s very classic approach to a fashion cover that ELLE France does so well and therefore it works for me,” aracic chimed in . “Could it have been better? Sure, yeah!”

“For me, Laetitia Casta will always and forever be a good idea. Casta’s story by Mario Testino and Emmaneulle Alt for Vogue Paris May 2012 will always remain the gold standard, but I am very much liking the sight of this cover – especially the art direction. It’s fun, it’s loud, has a hint of joy… I’ve zero complaints,” praised vogue28.
