A Louis Vuitton-clad Peggy Gou Poses on Vogue Germany’s January/February 2024 Issue

Vogue Germany entered its banal era a number of years ago. We don’t expect the magazine to break new ground under its current direction either. Covers over recent months starring the likes of Ashley Graham, Ruby O. Fee, Kim Petras and Greta Hofer have each failed to reinstate the magazine to what it once was. The German fashion bible’s first installment for 2024 sees Peggy Gou land her very first Vogue cover, with the title’s head of editorial content Kerstin Weng welcoming the South Korean DJ and singer onto the January/February edition. In the cover photographed lensed by Misha Taylor, complete with styling from James Valeri, Peggy is dressed in a head-to-toe look from Louis Vuitton’s Spring 2024 collection.

Read below the reactions of theFashionSpot’s forum members:

“Grey and yellow always have that February vibe when they’re used on covers, it’s like a combination of rainclouds but also the hint of spring. Other than that, it’s another cover of German Vogue that looks unfinished. It looks like a rough draft of an idea, rather than the final product,” said tigerrouge.

“They’re not trying anymore,” sighed MON.

Also quick to disapprove of the outcome was plentyofhorns: “Happy for Peggy Gou but I feel like Vogue Germany should’ve chosen a better cover photo. The white part of the dress is blending into the wall and I keep thinking her legs are cut off!”

“That cover need more text to fill the space,” ivano pointed out.

“You are 100% right,” replied vogue28 in agreement. “The art direction (as per usual with Vogue Germany) leaves a whole lot to be desired here. Admittedly, the black and pale yellow works but the basic and amateur ultimately kills the finished product.”
