The New Generation of Italian Models Front Vogue Italia’s ‘Amateur’ February 2024 Cover

Nowadays, Vogue Italia may not hold the prestige it once enjoyed during the late Franca Sozzani’s reign but at the very least, models remain at the forefront of the magazine’s front covers. Toward the end of 2023, as per the request of the magazine’s head of editorial content Francesca Ragazzi, Angelina Kendall, Anna Ewers and Liya Kebede were each welcomed as cover stars. The February 2024 edition sees Ragazzi usher in the new and upcoming generation of Italian models as cover girls, who include Valeria Buldini, Maty Fall, Adele Aldighieri, Ajok Daing, Malika El Maslouhi, Paola Manes and Marina Moioli. The fresh-faced beauties come together before the lens of photographer Mark Kean in the portrait cover shot, each styled by Imruh Asha in pieces from Sabato De Sarno’s debut Gucci collection for Spring 2024.

Read below the reactions of theFashionSpot’s forum members:

“Calling this mess amateur would an understatement. Today’s fashion photographers are a joke, and the models aren’t any better,” immediately called out avonlea002.

“It’s giving nothing,” laughed Chipmetrai.

“That looks like an America’s Next Top Model first episode shoot,” an underwhelmed Urban Stylin noted.

Aracic commented: “I’m sorry, I have to laugh. Why are some of them barefoot? Did no one coordinate their poses? Why is it so bad? What an embarrassment.”

“How the mighty have fallen,” chimed in forum member marsnoop2.

“All I see when I look at this is a poor man’s version of Luigi & Iango’s multi-girl Vogue Japan covers,” shared a disapproving vogue28.

“This must have been said countless times already but I miss Franca Sozzani,” cried out notfatgoddess.
