FKA Twigs Fronts Chioma Nnadi’s Debut Issue as British Vogue’s Head of Editorial Content

Since September 2023, we here at theFashionSpot, have been sat in total apprehension as to what British Vogue might resemble once Chioma Nnadi was officially at the helm. Edward Enninful‘s final issue is about to vanish from newsstands any day now, to make way for the British fashion bible’s April 2024 offering – Nnadi’s first which features FKA Twigs. After many weeks of guessing games and teasers via social media, the cover reveal has finally took place, which bestows upon us the British singer-songwriter via the lens of photographer Johnny Dufort. In the cover image captured on location under cloudy London skies, Twigs is styled by Ib Kamara in a pale yellow dress from Loewe’s Spring 2024 collection as she poses perched atop the roof of a black London cab.

Read below the reactions of theFashionSpot’s forum members:

“I expected a drastic change on the cover, but this looks exactly like Edward’s Vogue. It’s not monumental for a new editor’s first issue,” immediately critiqued crmsn.

LastNight felt the same way, adding: “What a let down! I was so hoping for a fresh start for British Vogue, but this looks exactly like Edward’s era. I hate this style of photography and the building and branches you can see in the background. This could’ve been really fun and fresh, but it’s just not quite there.”

“It was foolish to expect anything better than this, I suppose. Frankly, it’s no worse than what Edward tried to deliver by the end,” said blueorchid.

“What a tragic cover…” Lola701 wrote.

Also majorly unimpressed was justaguy, voicing: “Dang… there is not one thing about this cover I like!”

“What a truly repulsive and deeply unattractive cover, and a total buzz-kill following the hype British Vogue attempted to create on social media. A massive flop and total non-event of a cover,” scolded vogue28.
