The Glam Guide to Visiting Montreal

Where to stay:

Marriott Chateau Champlain is located in the heart of downtown Montreal, right above the metro and underground mall, making it an idea location for even the most casual of tourists. We loved the French-themed Samuel de Champlain breakfast buffet — especially its cheese section! — and cocktails at the dark and romantic Le Senateur bar. Locals jokingly refer to this spot as the cheese grater due to its design (we found it oddly appropriate considering Quebec is known for its cheese), but we were huge fans of the comfortable rooms, top-notch gym and free wi-fi hotel-wide.

Where to spa:

Heaven on water? Bota Bota is sort of like taking a cruise — minus all the annoying parts. Anchored by the old Port of Montreal, just steps from my beloved da Emma Italian restaurant, Bota Bota, spa-sur-l’eau is a spa-boat that lulls you to relaxation right on the St. Lawrence River. None of my mama’s lullabies were like this. Old Montreal is a magical backdrop under any circumstances, but coupled with five decks of spa options, including two saunas, eucalyptus steam bath, outdoor whirlpool baths, cold showers and baths, relaxation areas, gourmet snack counter, terraces and garden? Heaven can’t be much better than this. Also, a great idea for an offbeat bachelorette party, the boat includes options for treatments including massage therapy, body treatments, facial treatments, manicures and pedicures, yoga and meditation.
