Trina Turk S/S 2011

Trina Turk’s designs may be Palm Beach, Hampton, and Bal Harbor staples, but despite the impressive 15 year history of her namesake brand, this season marked the first time Turk opted to show her collection via a presentation during New York Fashion Week.

Not as preppy as Lily Pulitzer, not as high fashion as Pucci, and not as sportswear oriented as Lacoste, the designer occupies a happy medium between the three.

Vibrant prints, boho-style cutouts, and loose off-the-shoulder silhouettes were shown in abundance, along with more tailored, monochromatic looks and a few dark prints.

While the louder colorful pieces are of the love-it-or-hate it nature, it’s hard not to find appeal in the ease of a wide pant cuffed at the bottom, a belted mini, or a cozy elbow-length knit – and bemoan the end of summer.
