By most accounts, we can trace the rise of the “it” bag to Fendi‘s launch of its Baguette and Croissant bags. Ever since, women have been rushing to get their hands on the latest – and often fleetingly popular – must-have bags of the season. These days, you’d be hard pressed to find a fashion editor who isn’t toting around a structured two-handle handbag from Celine or Proenza Schouler’s PS1 bag, both of which are primed for collectors, given their seemingly endless color and fabrication variations.
