Todd Lynn Fall 2011 Runway Review

Todd Lynn has built a reputation for his masterful juxtaposition of textures and sleek, futuristic outerwear and this collection, entitled Revelation: Revolution, was no different. With a theme so poignant in today’s global economic climate, the aggressive nature of the show could not have been more culturally relevant.

Funnel necked leathers and furs offered a notion of protective wear while torsos were draped with panels of fabric in an armorial manner. A palette of grey, putty, black, and red was all over the designer’s signature looks, but in spite of the harsh quality of his designs, it seems that Lynn is slowly beginning to integrate softer silhouettes into his repertoire.

Lynn’s lean leather trousers were shown alongside softer outerwear and tunics, and ribbed knitwear made a much revered appearance, but his meticulously cut tailored looks were enviable as usual and will surely be a great success.
