It's not for nothing that in 2002 Ralph Rucci became the first American designer in over 60 years to be invited to show in Paris by the French Chambre Syndicale de la Haute Couture. The designer’s Chado Ralph Rucci line, more so than almost any other label, is crafted so impeccably well that it’s at once artistic and luxurious without ever coming across as showy or ostentatious. Little surprise that his fashions favored by the likes of Martha Stewart and Whoopi Goldberg, who was front row at his Spring 2012 show, garnered a standing round of applause.
A palette of neutrals and metallics made for an ethereal collection rife with beautifully sculpted silhouettes and embellishments that included embroidery, beading, and fringe. The horsehair-accented white chiffon gown that closed the show, the skirt suits, and the sheer paneled gowns and jackets made for stand out looks that sophisticated women (with Black American Express cards…) in a range of ages will be clamoring to wear come the Spring.
