Givenchy Spring 2012 Runway Review

Unlike the print, gothic, and black-heavy collection many may have been expecting, Givenchy creative director Riccardo Tisci showed a clean and tailored line-up inspired by mermaids, surfers, and other sea-loving creatures. The inspiration came through strongest via the tightly fitted pants, undulating fabrics, tightly packed sequins, and peplums, all of which made for a collection that while a bit repetitive at times was nothing short of stunningly beautiful.

A few notes of animalier print along with sheer fabrics gave added sex appeal to the fitted and feminine collection that will surely go down as one of the season’s best. Speaking of best, the show opened with Natalia Vodianova and closed with Gisele Bundchen – hard to top that casting.
