Armani Prive Haute Couture Spring 2012

Giorgio Armani’s Armani Prive show coincided with the Oscar nomination announcements so one has to wonder whether nominee Jessica Chastain, who was seated front row, will take it as a sign and opt for one of the beautiful creations Armani presented.

Shades of green, particularly an impossible to forget lime, made up a large part of the collection, which included a slew of 3-D effect sculpted details on skirts and dresses as well as prominently sculpted shoulders. While embellished cocoon-like shells made for dramatic runway effects, there were plenty of gorgeous, more traditionally Armani pieces including slim trousers, fitted blazers, a slew of iridescent fabrics, and beautiful skirts with droopy pockets.
