Dsquared Fall 2012 Runway Review

Forget dark and goth, things were upbeat, if a bit jumbled, at Dsquared2 for Fall 2012. The season’s lineup had an all-over color and print palette that made parts of the collection seem a bit disjointed, though that perhaps had more to do with the styling than with the actual looks which, for the most part, took on retro 60s silhouettes.

Among the standouts were the above-the-knee pencil skirts, the cropped fur trimmed jackets, the colorful cropped pants, and a striped fur 3/4 sleeve sweater that any mink-loving woman would surely love to have.

Styling aside, it was one of the most wearable outings for Dean and Dan Caten. That said, while the collection was more prim, proper, and approachable than some of the more provocative ones of seasons past, it should be noted that last season's Heineken toting models were replaced by models smoking cigarettes at this season's show….60s Mad Men all the way.
