PATRICIA FIELD AND HSN

Apparently collaborating with Payless on a line of decidedly tacky, poorly made shoes wasn’t enough for Sex and the City stylist Patricia Field.

It will include Sex and the City stand-outs like the flower dress Carrie wore in the movie, along with T-shirt dresses, denim, sportswear, sequin blazers and accessories, for a total of 50 pieces.

The collection will be co-designed by House of Field designer David Dalrymple and a runway show will be staged during Fashion Week.

I find it disappointing that someone with as much vision and talent as Patricia Field continues to sell-out (she has also collaborated with Diet Coke on a series of specially-designed bottles).

I am all for making fashion accessible and I think Field’s Bowery boutique is a great example of that, but teaming-up with HSN to bring “New York Fashion” to the masses reeks of a cheap and easy way to capitalize on her Sex and the City fame…
