News & Runway

Egle Tvirbutaite is no newcomer to the fashion world, but this Major model has been quickly climbing the ranks.

The face for GF Ferre, French Connection, and TopShop (alongside Iekeliene Stange), the Lithuanian beauty has racked in several accomplishments in addition to opening Louis Vuitton’s Fall/Winter 08 runway show, closing John Rocha with the designer himself, and gracing the cover of Wonderland all in the past year. She also popped up again for Resort season, booking Christian Dior, Stella McCartney, and Zac Posen.

Gracing the runway since the Spring/Summer shows for 2006, Egle says that she really enjoys walking for Balenciaga, Louis Vuitton, and Alexander McQueen. “I think these shows are hard to forget. Betsey Johnson and Vivenne Westwood are super fun also.”

She’s friends with fellow Lithuanian models Edita Vilkeviciute and Giedre Dukauskaite, and spends her free time going to movies or hanging out at the park.

Egle isn’t sure about her future career moves, although she says she’d like to stay involved in the fashion world after her modeling career. She doesn’t follow any style trends, nor does she have any fashion icons.

The nineteen-year-old follows her own rules and keeps it clean with “dark colors, simple designs, and flats.” Her current style staples are relaxed Marc Jacobs wide-leg pants, a leather Yigal Azrouel jacket, and her Givenchy handbag that “fits everything.”

Her life outside of the modeling world is just as busy, as she is currently adapting to life in her new apartment in New York City.

Egle loves her life in the Big Apple, which is very different from her home country of Lithuania.

She says, “I don’t really have time to go back there. Definitely, I’ll go visit in August to see my family. Since I’ve finished school, I have nothing to do there. My hometown is small, and most of my friends have moved to the capital or to foreign countries to study.”

Although her small hometown might not have much to offer for Egle Tvirbutaite’s career, she will surely do just fine in New York, Paris, London, and beyond.
