News & Runway

The Versace Spring 2009 collection, with its beautifully tailored separates, dresses, and gowns, pops of color and metallics, sculpted bustier bodices, delicate drapery, and zipper and heart detailing, made the collection a delightful stand-out and a wonderful cap to Milan Fashion Week.

Of course Donatella Versace stuck with the Versace signature look – sky-high stilettos, short dresses, pants and skirts, and form fitting silhouettes – all of which were marvelously accented with geometric and draped detailings.

The mirrored runway showed-off the fluorescent soles of some of the gorgeous shoes and like so many collections this season, the collection featured cinched waists, touches of vibrant prints (which resulted from a collaboration with illustrator Julie Verhoeven and fittingly prominently featured the Medusa), and dresses and gowns with pockets.
