News & Runway

With all the attention Hermes handbags and accessories gets, it’s easy to forget the house’s apparel. Fittingly this season Jean Paul Gaultier delivered classic – if forgettable – aviator-inspired wears for the Fall/Winter 2009 Hermes collection.

Multiple propellers turned in the background as soundtracks from Casablanca played and models in bomber jackets and aviator headgear and goggles made their way down the runway.

Some looks succeeded like the parade of slinky evening gowns, leather jackets, and fur accented coats (particularly the one paired with the last look that look luscious with its black fur collar), while others like a full-on leather jumpsuit worn over a black button down shirt and tie did so to significantly less avail.
