THOM BROWNE S/S 2010

Thom Browne has a reputation for presenting the unexpected. From skirts for men to a three-legged pant, the designer, known for popularizing the ankle-bearing pant, has done it again. This season, his collection was called ‘Mermaids in war paint’. Forgoing the usual runway or studio presentation, the designer chose to show his Spring 2010 collection at his store.

Due to lack of presentation space, the models were prepped off-site two blocks away and paraded down the street to enter from the front door. The designer promised that this collection would be one to make people think, and he did not disappoint.

Models wore blue streaked lips and unfortunately perpetuated the no-pants trend by wearing what has been described as ‘manties’. Miniskirts, flat tails and a sequined skirt-suit rounded out the somewhat outlandish collection.
