News & Runway

Skinny pants are over? But we were just getting started!

Don’t fret – it’s not time to toss them out of your wardrobe just yet. However, do make some room for the wider leg, “snack forgiving” styles seen on the runways. Designers are coming up with all sorts of slouchy options that add a little more room in the hip and thigh. Whether high-waisted or low, these flowy pant leg options look effortlessly sleek with impeccable tailoring in a variety of fabrications.

Looking great in both casual or eveningwear styles, the choices are endless, and come in all sorts of price ranges.

Oscar de la Renta shows off an upper east side look with a pair of pleated, mid-calf, wide leg trousers looking dressed up enough for a cocktail party.

Carlos Miele keeps it chic and casual with slouch khakis paired with a metallic belt and printed top.

Wild for prints, Marc Jacobs rolls up a pair of slouchy, denim pants in a neon tribal print.

Isaac Mizrahi keeps an abundance of fabric tame with pleating, creases, a high waistline, and a modern cut.

Badgley Mischka keeps it full and luxurious in black slacks paired with a fitted white top.

Fuller pants are an exciting trend coming for Spring 2010, but remember to keep your top balanced and fitted so you don’t drown in fabric.
