TREND: WATERCOLOR

It’s true that designers are artists, and if you were ever in doubt, this season’s prints will definitely persuade you to agree. With gorgeous watercolor prints in swirls of bright colors, pastels, neons, and jewel tones, the combinations were endless and exquisitely effortless looking. Abstract flowers and pretty swirls of color were splashed over silk dresses with a skilled painter’s brush. Ombre effects and prints from head to-toe still seemed soft and not overbearing.

An asymmetrical dress seemed perfect when paired with these conceptual prints, as if they were destined to be together and had finally found their way in Spring 2010. Perhaps a tad dramatic, but we could use a lighter look and a brighter take on the future next year.

Christian Siriano shows off a blue, black, and white printed asymmetrical gown with an abundance of positive energy.
