News & Runway

Let’s hope Spring 2010 is a warm one, because designers aren’t giving us a lot of cover to bear the cold. Sexy slits, cut outs, and mesh overlays were used to give a little exposed skin a saucy twist. Gorgeous gowns in pattern cutouts and layers of see through fabrics draped over intricate designs made these sexy looks sophisticated and fresh. Mesh is so 80’s rock band, but not in these new designs.

Paired with high-end fabrications and executed with a designer’s hand, the looks are modernized and upscale without being uptight. Most of the looks seen on the runway were for a night out on the town, but a few were just exposed enough for daytime.

Gorgeous in Marchesa, this black and white number is a couture gift with flower cut outs.

Donna Karan shows off an organza and lace cocktail dress, pretty and sexy in white and soft grey colors.

Always an original, Marc Jacobs creates a vinyl cut out Capri pant and matching jacket with a chiffon bodice.

Jill Stuart is tight and colorful with a bright blue and black mini dress with pekaboo, mesh cutouts.

Narcisco Rodriguez knows how to create sleek gowns with interesting detail, as exhibited in this black chiffon gown.

A slash on the shoulder in a form-fitted dress or sexy cutouts in a pantsuit will expose your skin in a little or big way. Just make sure what you show off is Spring 2010 ready.
