Alexander Wang Spring 2014: A Logo-Heavy Season

Talk about taking a risk – in what will likely go down as the season’s boldest move, Alexander Wang splashed his name all over his Spring 2014 collection. It was emblazoned or punched out in repeated motifs on dresses, tops, opera gloves, waistbands, leather coats and pleated skirts, but before you think tacky, the lesson in branding looked fantastic. Take note, Kanye West, who was fittingly sitting front row.

Logos aside, the most memorable piece was a sheer sweater with a white stripe across the chest with the Parental Advisory stamp on it; it fit in perfectly with the sportswear-inspired collection. Sticking with his signatures, the designer showed boxy cuts, crop tops, loose shorts and an impressive series of dresses made out of stripes of leather, all of which came in mostly neutral tones.
