Victoria Beckham Spring 2014: The Designer Loosens Up…a Little

This season for Victoria Beckham, it was out with the fitted mini dresses and in with loose cropped-below-the-knee pants, Bermuda shorts, layered tops, ruffle hemmed minis and most surprisingly, long and loose separates (including a gorgeous white tuxedo vest). Though the cuts still stayed on the lean side, they were more relaxed than what we usually see from the designer; in fact, even the slim belted minis came with fluttering hems.

It appears Beckham is looking to give the uptown customer she dresses a younger edge, especially when she veered on the sporstwear-inspired side (something she has explored before with hooded outerwear). For Spring 2014, she went for tennis-inspired looks, which translated into pleated minis and a slim cut white jacket with black accents. It all looked fantastic on the models and when the designer walked out in a pair of the collection’s trousers and a crisp white button down, it looked great on a real woman as well.
