J.Crew Spring 2014: A Lesson in Styling

J.Crew Spring 2014 proved, once again, that the brand can style masterfully. Pairing clashing prints and stripes on stripes alongside head-to-toe monochrome looks and looks that played with varying textures, they gave a fashion-forward twist to pieces that when taken on their own, are relatively basic.

The collection ran the gamut from neutrals to bright prints and alongside the closet staples there were some slogan tops (“Oui Mon Cheri,” for example), touches of sparkle (including sequined jogging pants) and a variety of cropped-at-the-ankle print pants and loosely draped tops that will work just as well by day as they will by night. Also worth singling out are the Sophia Webster for J.Crew shoes, which launched at the show, including some fantastic pointed print pumps and T-strap sandals.
