DSquared2 Spring 2014: 50s All The Way

DSquared2's Dean and Dan Caten almost always make their seasonal inspiration blatantly obvious and this season it was clearly the 50s, which made for a fitting follow-up to last season's 40-influenced collection.

While the designers' penchant for the dramatic didn't have the collection screaming easy retail — there were plenty of corseted swimsuits presumably meant as cocktail attire — there were a number of pieces to find appealing in the collection. Shown against a tiki bar backdrop, standouts included a white two-button structured jacket, cropped below-the-knee bright orange trousers with a coordinating top and strapless print sundresses.
