Marni Spring 2014: Castiglioni Covers All of Her Bases

Cohesive while covering all her basis, Marni’s Consuelo Castiglioni showed a stellar collection that offered both minimalist, clean lined looks (notably, fantastic high-waist palazzo pants) alongside more embellished pieces.

Even when the embellishments came in the form of heavy ruffles and floral appliqué they felt wearable, given the designer’s mastery of colors and silhouette. Particularly stunning were monochrome appliquéd pencil skirts and jackets which, given their fitted silhouettes and streamlined colorways, didn’t overwhelm the eye.

Also worth singling out were the visors that accompanied all of the looks, which are sure to be editor favorites come next season.
