Former J.Crew Designer Marissa Webb Proves She’s One to Watch for Fall 2014 (Runway Review)

The Scene: Alyssa Milano continued her NYFW crawl at Webb’s show.

The Inspiration: Fashion-minded, but functional and minimalist pieces for the urban girl on-the-go.

The Look: J.Crew’s former head designer may have just launched her label in Spring 2013, but her Fall 2014 collection makes it clear why she’s already landed in A-list retailers like Barneys. From start to finish the collection was rife with looks that fashion-conscious urban girls will be clamoring for. Skin-grazing black leather trousers, knee-length leather skirts, tweed, mixed textures, cropped at the ankle high shine red pants, slit skirts, sheer blouses, fur-trimmed jackets, loose and layered separates as well as casual plaid button downs were all shown and impeccably styled (little surprise given Webb’s pedigree).

The Accessories: Strappy pointed pumps.

The Beauty: A clean face and minimal makeup was paired with hair that was slightly disheveled for a slept-in look.

The Takeaway: Marissa Webb will undoubtedly be a name we’ll be hearing a lot more of in the seasons to come.
