Jill Stuart Fall 2014 (Runway Review)

The Inspiration: Lower East Side Baroque

The Look: A limited color palette—black, white, light brown, maroon, deep blue—and ample use of intricate lace and beading made for a sophisticated-baroque look. Updated for the NYC streets, this lush, luxe collection builds upon every perfect fall-ready trend there ever was. Frock-heavy, the collection incorporated familiar silhouettes with nice details: a dress whose neckline is defined by crisscrossed rope.

The Accessories: The tights were a big deal with this show: either dotted with sparkly black and gold or embroidered with sequins sewed on.

The Beauty: Sleek straight and wavy hair (retaining some movement) and heavy black lining under eyes.

The Takeaway: If you’re seeking the quintessential fall collection—fit for a sartorially smart party girl—this one’s for you.
