The Look: What would a Cavalli show be without fringe, animal print, in-your-face-fur and stacked gold jewelry? While the brand certainly has a very niche appeal, this season its signatures were given a surprisingly wearable bend, namely thanks to toned down clashing prints, less layering and silhouettes that weren’t unbearably tight. Fall 2014’s inspiration came through literally via separates fashioned out of prints depicting the facade of the Santa Maria Novella church; others had the head of Michelangelo’s Aurora. While the collection could have done without metallic gold fringed trousers and jackets, the fringed bags and fringed suede boots held high appeal. Also worth singling out were thigh-high suede boots, sinuous brush stroked tops and dresses, gold and brocade jackets and pants, and rivet-accented pieces
The Accessories: Strappy sandals, fringe suede booties and thigh-high boots. Bags came finished with fringe and gold rivets.
The Beauty: Hair was side-parted, blown out straight and slicked flat. Lips were muted and eyes were black rimmed.
The Takeaway: It may have been a slightly less daring season for Just Cavalli, but it was still a collection for the young and bold.
