One Minute with … Creatures of the Wind

On Thursday, the sartorial set gathered at Pace Gallery in Chelsea to take in Creatures of the Wind‘s Spring 2015 collection, complete with a brand new, in-house footwear debut. (Think chunky 70s heels and huarache-esque platforms.) We caught up with designers Shane Gabier and Christopher Peters backstage after the show.

theFashionSpot: Congratulations on your CFDA win this summer! How did you celebrate?

Shane Gabier: We ate, like, 45 macaroons.

Christopher Peters: We were in bed by midnight. There are very few things to do after midnight that are worth being out that late.

tFS: Where do you keep the award?

SG: We arranged it on one of our tables in our apartment, next to a special sculpture.

tFS: Do you feel less or more pressure after winning?

CP: It definitely changed the game for us. We feel less pressure. We’ve been in a lot of competitions the last year — an endless amount. It kind of allows us to take a break from that.

SG: And it gave us some validation.

tFS: The new footwear collection is a hit. Who’s more of a shoe addict?

CP: We both are, and we wear the same size, so we can swap!

tFS: What shoes do you guys live in?

CP: We mix it up. There are a lot of Converse and Vans.

SG: And Prada.

tFS: What are your post-show plans?

CP: We have a dinner with the team…

SG: Then we’ll go home and take a nap.
