One Minute With … GEORGINE’s Georgine Ratelband

GEORGINE had our rapt attention from the very first model that walked today’s runway. From the hair down to the platform heels, every look was the perfect mix of fun, glamour and sex appeal. We caught up with designer Georgine Ratelband after the show to get her one-minute take on Fall 2015.

theFashionSpot: What inspired today’s collection?

Georgine Ratelband: Weimar Cabaret in Berlin in the 20s and 30s, and then I looked at British designers like Ossie Clark in the 60s. For my color palette, I looked at artist Richard Lindner. And you know, tried to make something for today!

tFS: The colors today were gorgeous. What was your favorite piece?

GR: I like all my pieces, I don’t play favorites, but I think one outfit I can’t wait to wear is the rubberized leather trench in aubergine and the hand-painted velvet palazzo pants. I love that one (look 5, below). And the fur coats — in probably orange, or the lime, maybe the blue…

tFS: How are you surviving the cold and snow this week?

GR: Coconut oil, fur, boots.

tFS: What are your post-NYFW plans?

GR: We have an after-party tonight, so I’m really excited about that. And just spend time with friends and family because they have not seen so much of me lately. Unless they are put to work for me, of course. And then we go to Paris for Fashion Week there for sales.
