Style has nothing to do with the latest handbag or subscribing to a new trend, it runs deep within a person’s soul, giving them the confidence to create and present themselves to the world. These stylish women snapped at New York Fashion Week are paying homage to two different time periods with their looks. On the left, a fashion show attendee puts a 90s spin on an otherwise tame look with a detailed floor length denim skirt. On the right, it’s pure 70s with a floppy hat and full bell bottoms.

Vintage inspired looks can be easily modernized with the help of accessories. On the left, Kurt Cobain-esque bold yellow tips look more like Lady Gaga with the help of towering heels and a bright blue bag. On the right, fringe isn’t just for cowboys! Paired with worn in studded boots, this look is western chic.

Elements of retro style were everywhere during Fashion Week, from the hair to the shoes! On the left, a sleek bob and printed scarf take us back to 20s flapper style. On the right, a tiny top with white sandals and pigtails scream 90s Courtney Love.

True style is immortal, it will surpass decades and reinvent itself over and over again. On the left, a floppy hat and jumpsuit reflect the 70s style revivial. On the right, a fur collar lush enough to make the entire cast of Mad Men jealous.
