Spring Style According to Alexa Chung (and Madewell)

Fashion "it" girl Alexa Chung has one of the most enviable wardrobes out there, and now she's opening her closet doors. The Madewell collaborator was asked by the brand to style five items from the Spring 2011 collection by coordinating with her own sure-to-be coveted pieces.

Alexa's task was to mix Tried & True pieces into her trendy repertoire. She had the presence of mind to combine the Perfect Chambray Shirt with a mini skirt and equally mini quilted bag. Only Alexa would have a pair of leather lederhosen she could actually sport over the pink Striped Tribute Tee. Even casual looks planned out thanks to hemmed Skinny Skinny jeans, a pale sweater and black heels.

Tweed may be more associated with Fall, but Alexa makes it Spring-worthy by matching the blazer with Madewell's Denim Midi Shorts and a white button-up. While a basic flannel shirt and combat boots get adventurous courtesy of the Safari Shirt Jacket.

As if getting style inspiration from Alexa wasn't enough, we just got word that the fashion savvy Brit is coming back with a follow up to her own Madewell collection. Although there's no word yet on what to expect for her second Fall offering (she chose to skip over Spring), get ready for the pieces to sell out quickly just like the prim party dresses, velvet shorts, bracelet-sleeved blouses, and doodle-heavy tees from her initial collection.

The wait begins for sneak previews of Alexa's next edition, but you can shop her favorite Spring pieces and sign up for breaking news about her latest collaboration at
