What We Bought: Summer Essentials (Forum Shopaholics)

Forum members shopped for summer essentials that are sure to become their go-to items in the coming months. Read on for a selection of their purchases.

It seems like there will be no end to clever Kate Moss-inspired apparel, and KamenKutak’s new “Kate Mouse” t-shirt from Net-a-Porter is yet another example of the supermodel’s influence on all things fashion.

One of several purchases from Heimstone this week, Kenysha75 bought this silk maxi dress in the brand’s Everglades print.

Rochasfille picked up this pair of 3.1 Philip Lim shorts on sale at Net-a-Porter. “I love things that come with belts,” she revealed. “I always feel like I’ve gotten a free belt!”

Luluposh got herself some classic American Sperry Top-Sider boat shoes from J.Crew. The boat shoe seems to have gained popularity even beyond the preppy set as of late, and I think we’re going to be seeing a lot more Sperrys than usual this summer.

“I’m planning to wear [these] all summer,” said liberty33r1b of her new, pointy-toed woven gold flats from Zara. I would wear them all summer too if they were part of my wardrobe.

Catherine88 also went for some gold this week when she “finally [got her] Michael Kors watch” from Shopbop.

“I’ve been doing some schizophrenic summer and winter shopping recently,” Hebden prefaced her purchases. “Summer was a leather and hemp tote from Barneys… winter, a distressed Fair Isle [sweater] from Edun’s Fall/Winter collection (though it won’t arrive for a few months).” The Fair Isle sweater comes courtesy of Moda Operandi, the new invite only trunk show website founded by Lauren Santo Domingo and Aslaug Magnusdottir that allows members to order pieces right off the runway.

“Someone needs to stop inviting me to weddings and cocktail parties, and tell me to stop buying dresses,” Ammarra posted as she shared her two new cocktail dresses (one of which is featured above) along with a new black and white one-piece swimsuit that she “love, love, [loves]… and can’t wait to wear.” She also added: “I need to figure out how to stop checking Net-a-Porter whenever I am bored.” All three purchases were made on Net-a-Porter, so clearly she hasn’t figured out how to do that yet.
