HERMES HELICOPTER

Many luxury brands have opted to lower prices in light of the economy.  A notable exception, however, is Hermes – which may prove smart as they’ve just posted a 3.2 percent rise in first-quarter sales.

Not only is the French fashion house refusing to lower prices, they have partnered with Eurocopter for the first ever $6 million Hermes helicopter. It was recently delivered to Falcon Aviation Services in Abu Dhabi. Dubbed the “l’Hélicoptère par Hermès,” the helicopter is based on Eurocopter’s EC135 model and done in brown and cream livery with signature Hermes orange accents.

Vice Chairman Salem Al Kayoumi has been quoted as saying that the emirates are delighted to be the first customer for ‘l’Hélicoptère par Hermès’, which gives them the opportunity to offer a unique traveling experience to their customers.

He added that the “helicopter illustrates a successful fusion between design and technology, where every detail has been created for VIP and business travelers. They are busy and highly demanding, yet wish to travel with utmost comfort and elegance.”

Past luxury designer and helicopter collaborations have included a black and white one from Versace and Agusta Westland.
