Spring 2015 Fashion Trend: Jumpsuits for All

Form and function are not mutually exclusive. This we know. But when it comes to that most utilitarian of clothing items — the jumpsuit — we tend to ignore form altogether in favor of a uniform look. For spring, visions of an Orwellian wardrobe need not dance before your eyes. Designers sent out all manner of jumpsuit — some sexy (yes, sexy!) like those at Giulietta, some loose and drapey. Others, like at Yigal Azrouël and Jason Wu, simply gave the appearance of a jumpsuit, in the form of a flight suit or mechanic outfit. Chic, yet a bit simpler to wear. Showing the right amount of skin is tantamount come spring, at least according to the deeper necks at Tia Cibani and Costello Tagliapietra. All the more reason to make these once overly masculine staples work more for the ladies. Whichever style you choose, consider these the adult versions of the rompers you’ve been wearing all summer. Pair with choice accessories, and you’re ready to take flight. (Sorry, we had to.)
