Long Shorts You Can Wear to Work That HR Will Actually Approve Of

Spring is in the air, even if we’re almost two weeks out from the actual start date. (March 19, in case you were wondering.) And while the warmer weather allows us to break out all of our favorite spring staples, from skirts to sandals, there’s one springtime fashion trend that definitely doesn’t suit the office: shorts. The solution? Long shorts that basically look like trousers with a little less material.

Bermuda shorts have been trending for a while now and on the Spring 2020 runways the trend was tailored to offer more work-appropriate versions. Max Mara, Sportmax and even Givenchy sent knee-length (or longer) shorts down their runways, frequently styled with matching blazers in case it wasn’t clear these extended shorts were designed for the office. But feel free to simply top them off with a crisp button-down and maybe a complementary vest.

And while you can wear them to work, we encourage you to also keep long shorts in play on the weekends. Simply strip off your blazer, blouse or whatever and swap in a statement tee or lightweight sweater. As if all this versatility wasn’t enough motivation to stock up, these knee-grazers will still work come fall.
