As the September covers continue to roll in on our forums, UK Harper’s Bazaar‘s edition is the latest to surface. For the September 2014 cover, the magazine enlisted British beauty Rosie Huntington-Whiteley as its cover subject for the “biggest issue ever.” Photographed by Bazaar regular David Slijper, Rosie stares down his lens wearing a pink mohair coat from Gucci. Even coming to us with minimal text for a newsstand cover, our forum members have mixed opinions.
“Love her but wish we could see more of what she has on versus a head shot,” commented Handbag Queen.
GlamorousBoy also questioned the choice of cover image: “It is beautiful but it just looks to me like some lipstick advertising or something like that… and although it is [the] biggest issue ever, it really does not look thick.”
“It’s a good beauty shot actually. I don’t see her as a great model because she doesn’t have much range but I respect and like her beauty. The only problem I have with this is that it doesn’t say much than ‘I’m pretty look at me’ instead of feeling emotionally involved with a story or with what she would have on her (fashion wise),” shared Bertrando3.
“I don’t even mean this sarcastically, but I honestly feel like I’ve seen this exact cover done before,” noted blueorchid.
Not everyone shared their sentiments, though, with the majority of our forum members favoring the cover. “I like it a lot. Stunning cover, yay for Rosie!” enthused an elated TeeVanity.
Miranda Almond‘s styling found an admirer in miguelalmeida, who posted, “Great cover! Cool concept and it looks really good the way they placed that Gucci coat!”
