Nicola Coughlan Receives the Quintessential British Harper’s Bazaar Cover Treatment for May 2024

Under the tutelage of Lydia Slater, British Harper’s Bazaar continues to be one of the best fashion books in the business. After all, covers throughout 2024 starring the likes of Léa Seydoux, Maisie Williams and Julianne Moore have impressed us to no end – and we’re only four months into the new year. Slater adds Nicola Coughlan to Bazaar‘s list of cover stars with the unveiling of the May 2024 issue. The Irish actress receives the quintessential British Harper’s Bazaar cover treatment for the occasion, with Bazaar regular Agata Pospieszynska commissioned to profile Coughlan on location within the grounds of Goodwood House (an expansive English country estate in West Sussex). In the charming cover image, the Bridgerton star is dressed by Charlie Harrington in a seersucker dress from Emilia Wickstead’s Spring 2024 collection and jewelry from David Morris.

“Need a Rennie, honey?” asked FiLReD upon checking out the cover.

“I can’t look at this cover seriously after that,” ivano replied. “This is very British Bazaar. Part of their identity, so if there’s something to rescue is they keep to the same aesthetic month after month. Nicola looks pretty!”

“Nicola Coughlan may not have a model body, yet she has a very beautiful and classy face, and looks beautiful overall. However, that cover makes her look too short. Not sure why they couldn’t crop it differently or use the picture in the same place where she’s more zoomed in,” noted Srdjan.

In complete agreement was TerraVera: “The cover could’ve been cropped more to frame her face. Otherwise, nice, pleasing colors for a cover!”

“The cover is very pretty, very quintessential British Harper’s Bazaar and all very inoffensive on the eye. However, I just hate and loathe entirely Nicola’s hand on her stomach. The beautiful setting, the jewelry, the Emilia Wickstead dress and the hand on the stomach is all I’m able to see. Nevertheless, major kudos to Lydia Slater for opting to use a body shot of Nicola as opposed to a closeup head shot,” vogue28 applauded.
