Tommy's "Hilfiger" family reunites at home for the holidays
The fictional "Hilfiger" family has been flitting about from country clubs to tailgate parties for Tommy Hilfiger's past three ad campaigns, but now they've settled down at home together for the holidays (AKA the brand's Fall 2011 ad campaign). Playing off J.D. Salinger's Glass family and Wes Anderson's Tenenbaums, Tommy's Hilfigers are an eclectic, dynamic cast of characters that play into the Tommy Hilfiger aesthetic of preppy American cool.
Photographed by Craig McDean, this latest run of ads features models Noah Mills, Iselin Steiro, Jacquelyn Jablonski, André Douglas, Bernard Fouquet, Chloe Blackshire, Eric Fry Halperin, Gracie Carvalho, Heloise Guerin, Julia Hafström, Lea Sorensen, Luis Borges, Max Motta, Max Rogers, and Sam Way.
The Hilfiger household may be overcrowded, but as far as fashion fantasies are concerned, this is one that I buy into: the Hilfigers seem warm and goofy, down-to-earth but still chic. They own two long-eared beagles and color-coordinate their outfits, so you know they're in sync and just really get each other. The kid on the staircase (below) seems like he'd be a nuisance, but every family has at least one nuisance, so I don't think I'd let it spoil my fun. And it goes without saying that they're all ridiculously good looking and so great at posing for family photos. [WWD]
Style tips from around the web
Even though rompers and wedges seem like summer must-haves, the only true must-have every girl needs once the weather gets warmer is a great pair of shades. The right pair of sunglasses will complement your style and flatter your face — all while giving your peepers some relief from the super-bright sun. Need a few tips for snagging the right pair of shades for the season? FashionGrail put together a handy guide that'll help you make the right choice. [FashionGrail]
Even if you're a fashion plate, there'll be some trends you won't want to try. Case in point? Jessie J's lip tattoo (left), which might not be permanent, but it's still a fashion risk I wouldn't take. But if you're looking for an opportunity to give your lips a lipstick break, these adhesive lip tattoos are available for $14.95 for a set of three and might come in handy when Halloween rolls around in a few months. Did you know that oatmeal was a great quick-fix for oily hair, a blast of cold water in the shower will get your hair shiny when it dries, and that mayo makes a great hair mask? Strange but true.
