Beyond Black: A New Direction for the Classic Moto Jacket

We don't have to tell you that motorcycle style is cool and sexy, right? Course not. We don't have to necessarily state that if you don't have a moto piece in your wardrobe, you've coveted one at some point or another. But what we do feel the need to point out is that this ubiquitous style is here to stay — for a while — and that it came out loud and proud on Fall 2013 runways. From fashion-forward brands like Etro and Kenzo to standbys like Versace and Givenchy, designers (and their teams) were loving tough-girl chic. They weren't sitting on their laurels, either, throwing one black leather jacket after another down the catwalk; they got creative with color, texture and textile.

If you're in the mood for moto style this fall and winter, don't let us stop you from making it happen. In fact, consider the below slideshow your shopping inspiration. Take a look at some of the more interesting runway looks, and then continue to click to check out what's in stores now. From faux leather that looks like the real thing to lace, knit and woven varieties, let your personal aesthetic be your guide. And don't forget, it's not just the jacket that offers a Moto collar, snaps or asymmetrical zip. We found vests by the ton, sweaters and coats that also had us swooning.
