90s-Inspired Ponytails Complete with Bobby Pins at Misha Nonoo

Models had a little bit of DIY fun backstage at Misha Nonoo — literally. All the ladies were on duty when it came to hair, where the inspiration for the look was the 90s. Ryan Trygstad for TRESemmé explains, “The inspiration came from Peter Lindbergh shots from the 90s, where the model had bobby pins in her hair, but the top of the hair was very sleek.”

“We had models prep their own hair with TRESemmé Perfectly (un)Done Wave Creation Sea Foam, which gave hair a little bit of the texture and waviness at the ends,” explains Trygstad. Before gathering hair into a low ponytail, models had to part their hair to the side. “Each model knows her best side and got to style it based on that,” says Trygstad. A DIY backstage moment, indeed. To keep the 90s gelled down sleekness, Trygstad used TRESemmé Ultra Firm Control Gel on the top of the head and to tame flyaways.

The final touch was placing a couple of matte black bobby pins along the hairline. “I think what makes it so 90s is the two bobby pins right at the front of the hairline,” expresses Trygstad. The look is a throwback style that is totally wearable and best of all — easy to recreate.
