Max Mara S/S 2019 by Steven Meisel

Steven Meisel’s Max Mara Campaign Is Giving Us Flashbacks to the Good Old Days

Our forum members love a good Steven Meisel shoot, but that doesn’t mean they won’t call the photographer out on occasion. This campaign season alone, the forums have criticized his work for Moschino, Versace and Jimmy Choo. But Meisel’s luck is about to change with his twelfth consecutive Max Mara campaign for Spring 2019, as he switches the focus from one model to four for the new season. Anyelina Rosa, Saskia de Brauw, Veronika Kunz and Julia Nobis join forces for a series of color-coordinated images styled by Carine Roitfeld.

Members of our forums were instant fans. “Very Meisel. It’s something like this that I would like to see at Versace (less girls and a straight-to-the-point approach),” praised forum member ghostwriter10549.

“Great use of Meisel (you better learn Donatella),” echoed Riseup.

“I think this is stunning. My favorite campaign of the season so far,” raved tjasmine.

Royal-Galliano agreed, writing, “Absolutely love the juxtaposition! Super simple yet powerful and a great cast as well!”

Valentine27 liked what she saw too: “Great campaign. Their clothes always look so luxurious, elegant and very appealing to me. I like this concept of one shot – one color. It’s dynamic and will certainly look eye-catching in the magazines. This is perfectly executed. I don’t even care about the casting at this point.”

“It reminds me of the classic shot of Carla Bruni, Claudia Schiffer, Naomi Campbell, etc. by Meisel,” pointed out mikel.

“Perfect, this collection is wonderful and the campaign too, reminds me of that Meisel shoot with the supermodels walking in Chanel clothes,” DK92 said.
