Added to the list this month is Malika El Maslouhi who graces the October 2023 edition of Vogue France, via the lens of photographer Malick Bodian. Shot on location within the French capital of Paris, the Italian beauty of Moroccan decent strikes a pose while styled by Ib Kamara in an all-black look from Anthony Vaccarello’s exquisite Fall 2023 collection for Saint Laurent.

Unfortunately, members of our forums were far from smitten with the end result. “Ceci n’est pas une couverture [this is not a cover],” discredited tigerrouge immediately.

“Anyone on this forum could have done a better job. A mess,” joined in avonlea002, in complete agreement..

“So underwhelming,” oaklee91 stated.

Forum member thiago wasn’t feeling the cover either, declaring: “It’s diabolical what they did with Vogue!”

Also majorly disappointed was MON, expressing: “The fact that you could mistake this for an Instagram post tells you all you need to know about the current target demographic and the alarming state of the industry!”

“I think it’s interesting but not Vogue enough. Malick has the talent to shoot but it could’ve been elevated MUCH more,” critiqued Ihhbl.

Vogue28 felt the same way, voicing: “It’s all just so… uneventful and half-baked. The image used for the cover doesn’t read cover-worthy to me whatsoever, far too zoomed out, too many distractions like those random balloons and the door!”
