10 Healthy Snacks Under 150 Calories (That Don’t Taste Like Cardboard)

Looking for a healthy snack to hold you over until your next meal? Nuts, fruits and veggies tend to be the best options, but if you’re looking for something packaged, skip the Chips Ahoy! and Lay’s and opt for one of the following options instead — all of which are under 150 calories per serving.

  1. Way Better Snacks: These tortilla chips are made with sprouted grains, beans, seeds and other simple ingredients. All of the flavors are Non-GMO Project verified, certified gluten-free and contain superfood ingredients like chia, quinoa, radish seeds and broccoli seeds. Many of the ingredients used are organic and there are no trans fats, MSG, artificial colors, refined sugar or canola oil. Basically, you’re getting a ton of powerful nutrients — including omega-3s and antioxidants — without any processed ingredients or too much salt/fat.

  2. Barnana: Organic, gluten-free, Non-GMO, vegan, raw and kosher, these chewy banana bites (they’re made of dehydrated bananas) have no additives or preservatives and they’re naturally sweet and full of potassium (the only ingredients are organic bananas and organic banana powder). Just make sure to opt for the plain/original bites, they’re sweet enough since ripe bananas are used (hence their brown color), and pack in significantly less calories than the chocolate-covered ones.

  3. Rhythm Superfoods: This brand makes raw vegan, nutrient-rich kale chips, all of which are free of GMOs and gluten. They’ve also got a bunch of flavors, including Kool Ranch, Bombay Curry, Zesty Nacho, Texas BBQ, Mango Habanero, Pineapple Coconut and Honey Mustard.

  4. Mary’s Gone Crackers Pretzels: Made with organic, gluten-free whole grains, including brown rice, quinoa, amaranth and millet as well as flax, sesame and chia seeds, these are the most flavorful pretzels ever. You can really taste the grains, which makes them taste healthy in the best way possible. These are also available in a few different flavors and the brand even makes chia seed-infused cookies.

  5. Pasta Chips: This new snack tastes similar to Wheat Thins, but it has less fat. Flavors include Mediterranean Sea Salt, Marinara, Garlic Olive Oil, Alfredo and Spicy Tomato Herb. Each serving has 120 calories, is made with semolina flour and oven-baked. Fittingly, each chip also looks like a ravioli.

  6. Little Duck Organics’ Tiny Fruits: This snack is actually made for children six months to three years, but all the flavors taste great, are organic, Non-GMO verified, have no added sugar and come in resealable pouches of Banana/Apple, Blueberry/Apple and Strawberry/Mango freeze-dried fruit. There are also no additives or artificial preservatives.

  7. Gravelnuts: This brand makes a variety of nut and seed mixtures, bars and granolas. Not all of them are under 150 calories, however, so check their nutrition facts, but all are made with high quality ingredients and without fillers.

  8. i heart keenwah: Available in Ginger Peanut, Chocolate Sea Salt, Almond and Cranberry Cashew, each bag of this quinoa-based snack is low in fat and sodium, while being high in protein and fiber. Quinoa is the only grain that’s considered to be a whole protein and it contains all nine essential amino acids.

  9. Matt’s Munchies: These all-natural fruit snacks are free of gluten, nuts, eggs, dairy products, artificial coloring and preservatives. All flavors are less than 100 calories and they have no added sugar, oils or salts. They also come in portable packets in a variety of banana and mango-based flavors, including Choco Nana, Apple Pie, Island Mango, Ginger Spice, plain Mango and plain banana.

  10. Panatea Matcha: While it’s not calorie-free like most teas since you’re ingesting the tea leaves, the calorie count is minimal and, if you opt for a high-quality one, matcha is very flavorful. Read more about it here.
