21 Questions With… Sports Illustrated Model Sofia Resing

Brazilian bombshell Sofia Resing has walked runways for a long list of designers like Etam and Cushnie et Ochs and has recently starred in campaigns for Sephora and Zuhair Murad. But given her affinity for the beach and the water — fitting with her Brazilian roots — one of her biggest career highlights was landing a coveted spot in the 2016 Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue. We spoke with the green juice- and water sports-loving model and asked her our quickfire questions.

  1. My morning routine consists of… making my own fresh green juice then going to work out. I usually add guarana powder, a Brazilian extract, for extra energy.
  2. The beauty products I find myself buying again and again include… Caudalie Eau de Beauté for a hydrated and glowing complexion. I usually carry the spray in my bag and I apply maybe five times during the day, so refreshing! I also love the Revitalizing Black Hydration Gel from boscia as a face moisturizer, it’s a cooling gel that minimizes pores, feels so good on the skin.
  3. I’m dying to splurge on… my upcoming Coachella outfits.
  4. What I miss most about Brazil… are the acai bowls and tapioca in the mornings.
  5. The career moment I still can’t get over… is definitely my debut on Sports Illustrated!
  6. My fitness routine consists of… in New York I love to vary between functional training sessions and yoga. When I am on the beach, I love to paddleboard if the water is flat and bodyboard if there are waves.
  7. When I can’t motivate myself to work out… I look at Izabel Goulart’s butt pictures and I get motivated.
  8. If you looked in my fridge you’d find… alkaline waters, fresh fruits and kombucha.
  9. When it comes to Sports Illustrated, people don’t realize… that in other countries, like back home in Brazil, some people don’t speak English. It would be amazing to have translated issues so everyone could have access to its content.
  10. One thing people don’t know about modeling… is the hours and hours of traveling that it requires. People have no idea how long we spend on planes. I think one month of my year is entirely spent in the sky.
  11. My favorite beauty trick… is braiding the hair while still damp and letting it dry. You can even sleep on it and wake up with natural beautiful waves.
  12. A tip for looking good in a picture… is to find your best angle and work it with the light.
  13. When it comes to dealing with insecurities… I would say people should never compare themselves with others. Everyone has their own time and journey.
  14. If my days had one extra hour… I’d try new recipes and cook more meals at home.
  15. The best place I’ve ever traveled… I have been to so many incredible places around the world that it is really tough to choose just one. But one place that definitely has my heart is Costa Rica.
  16. My most memorable runway experience… was closing the Etam show in Paris while Snoop Dogg was performing!
  17. To stay looking good while traveling it’s important… to always prioritize comfort. There is always a way to be comfortable and stylish at the same time.
  18. If I wasn’t modeling I’d be… running my own business in Brazil and living on the beach.
  19. The best piece of advice I ever got was… to not rely on anyone else to get things done in life. There is no one better than yourself to stand up and fight for what you want!
  20. My biggest pet peeve… is when people can’t be straightforward and just lie.
  21. One thing I wish people knew about me… is that I have a gorgeous twin sister!
